About.

This blog seeks to accentuate the importance of circular fashion in today’s climate. The fashion industry is grappling to reach the demands of the modern environmentally conscious consumer and effectively roll out ambitious sustainability initiatives that promise drastic change and justice throughout the supply chain. While sustainability and anything “green” has firmly entered the mainstream narrative, it must be remembered what is required in order to achieve the 2050 net-zero targets outlined. Within this notoriously opaque industry void of regulation, we need to be aware of hidden lies within ‘green’ marketing from the brands we shop from. At Circular Style, we aim to sift through some of this noise and guide our readers towards more sustainable shopping and sustainable clothing brands, and provide circular fashion styling inspiration; blending vintage, preloved, rental, high-street and premium brands to curate classic looks.

Fundamentally the way we consume fashion needs to change if we have any hope of reducing some of the damage caused by the fashion industry, the second most polluting industry on the planet behind oil. So here at Circular Style, we are urging consumers to try to shift their shopping habits towards renting, selling, buying secondhand, reusing, mending and exchanging clothes where possible and favouring sustainable brands over unethical fast-fashion brands. The hope is, by making these changes to our consumption patterns, the industry will have no choice but to listen to consumers’ needs and expectations when it comes transparency, traceability and circularity within the supply chain of fashion brands, from material sourcing, the use of harmful chemicals and waste management.
